Several content creators try to circumvent the rules by calling to the drug as a “research chemical” or citing it as “not for human consumption”. Research also discovered groups with up to 9,000 members marketing retatrutide using Telegram's built-in discovery tool, which operates like a public directory. A medical professional of an online medical service connected the surge in interest to current cost increases for approved slimming drugs such as Mounjaro. “With costs increasing, patients are using social media. Her staff has already seen individuals injured by self-injection from unconfirmed suppliers. “We recognize the frustration, but buying from messaging apps or communication platforms is gambling with your health,” stated Wyllie. “These materials could be impure or improperly measured.”
